The Honda Civic Hybrid was firstly introduced in Japan at the end of 2001. It comes in both automatic and 5-speed manual transmission. It had the same engine as Civic.
Later, The Civic hybrid became the first hybrid vehicle to be certified as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero- Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) from California's Air Resources Board. The second generation Civic Hybrid was similar to the eighth generation Civic. The Civic hybrid ranks as the second best selling electric hybrid car in the U.S. As of the end of January 2009, the total global sales of all Civic hybrid exceeded 255,000.
New Honda Civic Hybrid has everything in it. It's the second most fuel efficient car with mileage of 44 mpg. Engine is 1.5 L liter (4 cylinders with Integrated Motor Assist IMA® system). It has continuously variable transmission (CVT) system and 110 horsepower.
